Language Day

On 25th September the children of 1S spent the day celebrating Languages Day. We made colourful Spanish flags and fans with Miss Smith. Our classroom looked very bright and festive at the end of the day with all the yellow and red decorations displayed around the room.

We also visited other ‘countries’ to learn about their language, food, music, dance and art.  These activities included tasting a chinese stir-fry and writing our names using the chinese alphabet; learning how to say hello “Bonjour” and goodbye “Au Revoir” in french; practising an Irish dance and making the Leaning Tower of Pisa out of marshmallows and spagetti!
